Major Events

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton offers three major fundraising events each year, generating much-needed funds to help further our mission of building loving relationships between people and pets.

Cat Walk

Created in 2007, Cat Walk is a "fur-alicious," high-energy competition with top area salons designing hair, makeup and costumes around a "cat-centric" theme, all to benefit the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. Hosted this year by Yvette "Diva" Williams, this slightly outrageous event is HSGD's annual entertainment highlight, culminating with the fabulous runway show and much-anticipated reveal of next year's theme. Approximately 800 guests attend this event each year.

Furry Skurry

Furry Skurry – the Humane Society of Greater Dayton's annual family-friendly 5k dog walk to raise much-needed funds for our programs and services – has been a fixture in the community since 1991. Attendees can form a team and compete for great prize incentives by registering on our website. Furry Skurry promises lots of fun, festivities and heart-healthy exercise for guests each year.

Pet Afflaire

Pet Afflaire is held at the Presidential Banquet Center every November. The Humane Society of Greater Dayton's annual black-tie "dinner with the dogs" hosts up to 500 humans, 250 dogs and a few very brave cats. A play date for owners and pets alike, this memorable event consists of dining, socializing and professional portraits. The evening begins with a reception followed by dinner, awards and a silent auction. This fun-filled event is our largest source of special-event income, allowing us to help animals requiring our assistance throughout the year.

Fore Paws Golf Classic

This new and exciting event just began in 2012 and was a great success! We expect it to grow bigger and better each year. We will be at the Pipestone Golf Course in Miamisburg again this year and we are hoping to double our numbers! Breakfast is at 7:30 am and the shotgun foursomes begin at 8:30 am. After play ends, lunch will be provided along with prizes and raffles. July 26, 2013 is the date, so mark your calendars and plan to join us!
